About CalcHours

CalcHours is a focused set of work-hours calculators that apply the actual rules of each country instead of a generic formula.

What we do

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Breaks, overtime thresholds and night-work windows come from rule files that cite the statute they implement (for example Sec. 4 ArbZG for Germany or 29 U.S.C. 207 for the United States). Each rule carries the date it was last reviewed, which is shown on the page.

The calculators are a tool, not legal or payroll advice. Collective agreements, state law and individual contracts can set different thresholds and premiums; the settings let you adjust them.

Your data

Entries are stored only in your browser (local storage) so that your time card is still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to our servers. "Share link" encodes your entries in the link itself; whoever receives the link can see them.

Corrections

If you find an error in a rule, a formula or a text, write to the address in the imprint. Corrections are published with a note on the affected page.
